I painted this piece in a freeform gestural way with permanent ink, allowing the interesting textures to emerge on the plywood surface.

At the heart of my abstract process, is often a journey with memory. Thoughts of where I’ve travelled stay with me somewhere in my head, and a trip to Finland and to see the amazing textile designs of Marimekko played into this.
