Thanks for visiting my site.

I work mainly with acrylics oils and gouache paint, and I often incorporate found materials into my pieces, creating assemblages that add another layer of depth. I’m drawn to using color to evoke emotion, and my art explores our human response to the world around us. Travel is a big influence for me—it sparks new ideas as I immerse myself in different environments. I observe the way people live, the architecture, the landscapes, and the colors that shape a place. These observations, combined with reflections on the past, feed into my more abstract work. I’m always aiming to stir something inside the viewer, tapping into those emotions we all share but don’t always express.

My process varies depending on the project. I often start with photos I’ve taken, then sketch in gouache, pencil, or collage to develop ideas. My sketchbook is my constant companion, filled with raw, intuitive drawings and fragments of thoughts. I also like to reuse materials, creating assemblages from found objects that carry a history of their own, linking them to stories and lives that are beyond the surface.

At the heart of it all, I’m interested in how we absorb and respond to the world—how our experiences shape the way we see and feel. Each piece is an exploration of that dynamic, a conversation between me, the materials, and the viewer.

My work has been shown in various gallery settings, and I continue to push boundaries and explore new ways to connect with an audience.
I have three times been selected for the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition: 2021, 2023 and 2024. Two of my paintings were selected for the discerningeye show in London’s Mall in 2023.

I also regularly show my work with the Crouch End Open Studios, Wivenhoe Art Trail.

My Background

With over 20 years of experience as a Graphic Designer, I honed my skills through formal training and industry work. Seeking to expand my creative horizons, I returned to study for an MA at Central St Martins from 2006 to 2008. This course deepened my passion for sustainability and material exploration, sparking a new and exciting creative direction.

After completing my MA, I was fortunate to receive a range of commissions, including: a three-dimensional shade structure for a Gold Medal-winning garden at the Chelsea Flower Show; a bespoke window display for Louis Vuitton; a series of contemporary wallpapers inspired by ecclesiastical embroidery; and a suspended paper sculpture featuring intricately laser-cut Ginkgo leaves. I also ventured into the world of printed textiles, ceramics, and cards, some of which were sold in the Tate Modern shop.
